Client: NoFo Brew Co

Project: Fully rethink and redesign the current website. Build an exciting user experience based on the existing style guide.

Art Direction/Agency: Urban Canvas
WebDeveloper: Yellow Comma
My Contribution: UX audit on former site, desktop and mobile user interface design (wireframes and interactive prototypes for main site and e-commerce), quiz logic + design, and presentations
Problem Statement: NoFo Brew Co needs an adventurous, easy-to-navigate site that goes above and beyond the typical brewery website, with: 1. an extensive list of cocktails and beers, including an interactive beer finder quiz; 2. an extensive e-commerce shop; 3. event calendars for multiple locations; and 4. an exclusive membership page.

Our chief concerns with the old site were that it was limited in its scalability, lacking brand personality, and not communicating the full range of products and events. Therefore, our new designs prioritized communicating the breadth of information, expanding the brand voice, and re-thinking CTAs.

Process + Wireframes

This project was a team effort at a creative agency. Here’s how we went about this project:

  1. Sent a discovery document for the client to fill out.

  2. Reviewed the current website, made notes and prepared questions for the client

  3. Met with several people on the client side to understand their business needs and their users’ needs, posed our questions and discussed general suggestions/direction per the discovery document

  4. Defined site priorities for both the client’s business needs and user needs

  5. Ideated with drawings, a written out site map and digital prototyping to determine site structure. Worked as a team and consulted with our web developer to create user flows

  6. Created full wireframes in Adobe XD

  7. Built up an interactive prototype in Adobe XD (both mobile and web versions)

  8. Received feedback from the client using XD’s design review tool and a combination of virtual + in-person meetings, iterated based on feedback

  9. Web developer completed the site

  10. Handoff to happy client

Results

  • Website is now mobile-first and easier to navigate for menus, events, e-commerce shop and taproom info

  • NoFo Brew Co continues to expand in the USA and internationally, with the site scaling seamlessly

  • Glowing feedback from stakeholders
