Client: Self-Driven

Project: Create a website for a full-service creative agency for ethical fashion brands.

End Users: International and domestic ethical fashion brands seeking help with creative projects
My Contribution: Conception, design and execution
Problem Statement: Agencies for ethical fashion brands exist, but they are typically focused on business, PR /events, or manufacturing, and their websites are often quite busy. There’s a niche available for a creative agency with a chic, minimalistic aesthetic to help likeminded brands with their artistic pursuits.

It was a chilly fall weekend and I had the itch to do something creative. I thought about drawing, but the inspiration hit me to make a website instead. Fatigued by the visual noise of the previous week, I dove into creating an ultra-minimal brand that would (theoretically) provide creative services for companies working in the sustainable fashion sector. Ouverte means “open” in French, which I named the company as a reference to keeping a “the-sky’s-the-limit”, open-minded spirit.

Knowing I wasn’t publishing this site for public consumption and considering it more of a “website sketch”, I did not license the photos used on the site. Please don’t sue me. Thanks!

Process

Here’s how I went about this project:

  1. Created the fictional brand (name, brand values, wrote from their perspective, explored color palettes and fonts)

  2. Used a sketchbook and pencil to ideate content ideas and page structure

  3. Did rough wireframe sketches

  4. Designed while I developed the site

  5. Continued to iterate as ideas flowed

  6. Had a great time at every stage!
